How we do dental braces
Every step is performed by BDS-certified dentists at your home in Hyderabad, with fully portable, sterilized clinic-grade equipment.
Orthodontic Consultation & Records
The dentist assesses your teeth, bite, and jaw, and reviews photographs and impressions. A comprehensive treatment plan is developed specifying which teeth to move, how, and in what sequence.
Bracket Bonding
The teeth are cleaned and dried, a bonding agent is applied, and brackets are precisely positioned on each tooth surface. The archwire is then threaded through the bracket slots and secured with elastic ligatures.
Active Treatment & Adjustments
At 4–6 weekly appointments, the archwire is changed or adjusted to progressively increase tooth movement. Elastic bands may be used at certain stages to correct bite relationships.
Progress Monitoring
The dentist tracks tooth movement against the treatment plan at each appointment, making adjustments to the sequence and forces as the case progresses.
Debonding & Retention
When treatment goals are achieved, brackets are removed and teeth are polished. A retainer is immediately fitted — typically a fixed wire behind front teeth and/or a removable clear retainer for night use.
Aftercare for Dental Braces
Follow these guidelines after your treatment to ensure the best possible healing and long-term results.
Brush After Every Meal
Food traps in brackets and wires after each meal. A proxabrush cleans between brackets — use it after every meal to prevent decay and gum inflammation.
Avoid Foods That Break Brackets
Hard foods (raw carrots, apples, nuts, ice), sticky foods (toffee, gum, caramel), and chewy foods damage brackets and bend wires, extending treatment time.
Use Orthodontic Wax for Sharp Wires
If a wire or bracket is irritating your cheek, apply orthodontic wax to the area immediately and contact us — we will adjust it at your next appointment.
Wear Elastics Consistently
If elastics are prescribed for bite correction, wear them exactly as directed. Inconsistent wear is the single most common reason treatment takes longer than planned.
Attend Every Adjustment Appointment
Do not miss or delay scheduled adjustments. These appointments are when tooth movement is actively directed — gaps significantly slow progress.
Wear Your Retainer After Debonding
After braces are removed, night-time retainer wear is lifelong. Without a retainer, teeth begin drifting back within weeks to months.
