About This Treatment

What is Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a titanium screw surgically placed into the jawbone, where it fuses with bone (osseointegration) over 3–6 months to create an artificial root. A ceramic crown is then attached to the implant via an abutment, completing the restoration. The result is a permanent, fully functional tooth that looks, feels, and behaves exactly like a natural one.

Dental implants are the gold standard for tooth replacement because they are the only restoration that replaces both the root and the crown. By stimulating the jawbone, implants prevent the bone resorption that invariably occurs after tooth loss — preserving facial structure and preventing the sunken appearance associated with missing teeth.

The implant process requires consultation, surgical placement, a healing period (osseointegration), and final crown fitting. Our dentists provide comprehensive pre-surgical assessment and coordinate with prosthodontists where required for complex cases. The surgical placement can be conducted at your home, and all subsequent appointments — healing checks, abutment placement, crown fitting — are done at your doorstep.

Why Dental Implants?

Understanding the purpose behind your treatment helps you make confident, informed decisions about your oral health.

The Only Treatment That Replaces the Root

Only an implant replaces both the missing root and crown. Without the root, the jawbone below a missing tooth gradually resorbs — changing your facial structure over years. An implant halts and reverses this process.

Looks and Functions Like a Natural Tooth

An implant-supported crown is indistinguishable from a natural tooth in appearance, and it functions identically — no dietary restrictions, no adhesive, no removal. It is fixed permanently in your mouth.

Does Not Affect Adjacent Teeth

Unlike a bridge, placing an implant requires no preparation of the adjacent healthy teeth. Those teeth remain completely intact. Preserving natural tooth structure is always the superior long-term choice.

Most Cost-Effective Over a Lifetime

A dental implant, while initially a larger investment, typically lasts 20–30 years or more with good care. Bridges and dentures require replacement every 7–15 years, making implants the most economical long-term solution.

Who Is This For?

Is Dental Implants right for you?

Understanding who benefits most from this treatment — and who may need a different approach — helps you make a confident, informed decision about your care.

Recommended for:
Single or Multiple Missing Teeth

Implants are the gold standard for replacing any number of missing teeth — the only restoration that replaces both the root and the crown for a completely natural result.

Patients with Adequate Bone Density

Sufficient jawbone volume is required for successful osseointegration. Patients with healthy bone are the most straightforward and predictable implant candidates.

Non-Smokers or Former Smokers

Smoking significantly impairs healing and increases implant failure rates. Non-smokers and those who have quit achieve significantly higher long-term implant success.

Patients Wanting to Preserve Adjacent Teeth

Unlike a bridge, implants require no preparation of healthy adjacent teeth — preserving natural tooth structure and avoiding placing those teeth at risk.

Long-Term Investment Mindset

Implants last 20+ years compared to bridges (10–15 years) or dentures (5–8 years) — the most cost-effective tooth replacement solution over a lifetime.

Not Recommended for:
Active Heavy Smokers

Heavy smoking impairs blood supply to bone, dramatically increasing the risk of osseointegration failure. Cessation for at least 2 months before and after surgery is strongly recommended.

Patients with Uncontrolled Diabetes

Poorly controlled blood sugar impairs bone healing and increases infection risk. Implants should only be placed once diabetes is well-managed over a sustained period.

Patients on Bisphosphonate Medications

Bone-density medications used in osteoporosis and certain cancers impair jawbone healing and significantly increase the risk of osteonecrosis following implant surgery.

Patients Under 18 Years of Age

Jawbone growth is not complete until the late teens. Placing implants before skeletal maturity risks positional misalignment as the jaw continues to develop.

Severe Bone Loss Without a Grafting Plan

Insufficient bone volume requires a bone graft before implant placement. This adds time and cost but is achievable in most cases — your dentist will assess and plan accordingly.

Our Process

How we do dental implants

Every step is performed by BDS-certified dentists at your home in Hyderabad, with fully portable, sterilized clinic-grade equipment.

01

Consultation & Treatment Planning

A comprehensive assessment of your bone density, gum health, and overall suitability for implants is conducted. A detailed treatment plan and timeline is presented, including cost and expected healing.

02

Implant Placement (Surgical Phase)

Under local anaesthesia, a small incision is made in the gum and the titanium implant is carefully positioned in the bone. The site is sutured and a healing cap placed. The procedure typically takes 60–90 minutes and is comfortable throughout.

03

Osseointegration (Healing Phase)

Over 3–6 months, the titanium implant gradually fuses with the surrounding jawbone — creating a stable, bone-anchored foundation. Healing checks are conducted at your home during this period.

04

Abutment Placement

Once osseointegration is confirmed, a small connector (abutment) is attached to the implant. A healing cap or provisional crown may be placed to shape the gum tissue around the future crown.

05

Crown Fabrication & Fitting

An impression or digital scan is taken to fabricate the final ceramic crown. When ready, the crown is secured to the abutment and checked for bite, fit, and aesthetics. Your implant restoration is now complete.

Post-Treatment

Aftercare for Dental Implants

Follow these guidelines after your treatment to ensure the best possible healing and long-term results.

Soft Food Diet for 2 Weeks

Avoid hard, crunchy, or chewy foods at the implant site. Soups, yoghurt, eggs, and soft cooked vegetables allow the surgical site to heal undisturbed.

Do Not Smoke for at Least 2 Months

Smoking is the greatest risk factor for implant failure. Nicotine impairs blood flow and bone healing — avoid completely during the entire osseointegration period.

Keep the Surgical Site Clean

Rinse gently with warm salt water 3–4 times daily from day 2. Do not spit forcefully or use a straw — this disrupts the blood clot essential for healing.

Complete All Prescribed Medications

Finish the full antibiotic course and take prescribed pain relief for the first 3–5 days, whether or not you feel discomfort after the first day.

Attend All Healing Check Appointments

Osseointegration is monitored over 3–6 months. Do not skip these appointments — early implant complications are most manageable when caught promptly.

Maintain Excellent Oral Hygiene Around the Crown

Once the crown is placed, brush and floss around the implant daily. Bacterial accumulation (peri-implantitis) is the primary cause of long-term implant failure.
